What is Eurofault?
Eurofault is an online Mercedes-Benz electronic diagnostics reference for independent repair shops. It has 16,168 guided repair procedures across 69 chassis, almost all of them yes/no decision trees with root causes and common misdiagnoses, 44 electrical guides, a Reference tab with 64,753 fault codes plus torque and spec tables, the Ask Eurofault assistant, and Shop Talk chat and forums. Plans are per shop and start at $100 a month.
Do I need an account to use Eurofault?
You can create a free account to browse the database and see what's covered, plus two example procedures that show how a job sheet works. Opening full procedures, electrical guides, the cheat sheet, Shop Talk chat and forums, and submitting a community fix all require a paid plan. The marketing pages — Home, About, FAQ, Pricing, and this Help page — are open to everyone.
Is there a free plan?
No — Eurofault is a paid, per-shop tool. Plans start at the Technician tier; see Pricing for current rates and what's included at each level.

How does a community-submitted fix get approved?
When you submit a fix, it's saved as "pending" and stays invisible in the main database. An admin reviews it from the Admin panel and either approves it — at which point it appears in the Database tab and gets its own discussion thread — or rejects it. This is enforced at the database level, not just hidden in the interface.
What happens when I report a chat or forum message?
You pick a category and a specific reason from dropdown menus (harassment, hate speech, threats, spam, scams, privacy, dangerous advice and more) — no typing required. The report goes straight to the admin review queue, and only admins can see it. Admins can dismiss it, delete the message, or mute the author.
What can admins do to a user account?
Admins can mute an account (blocks chat, forum, and fix-submission posting for a set time), suspend an account (blocks sign-in for 30 days), or ban an account (blocks sign-in permanently). All three are reversible from the Admin panel's Users tab.
Can I customize my profile?
Yes — once signed in, open Settings from the top bar to upload a profile picture directly (no image hosting needed), and to set your display name and username. The same screen has an Appearance switch for Light, Dark, or System (follows your device). If you don't upload a picture, Eurofault shows your initials instead.
Can I sign in with Google?
Yes — use the "Continue with Google" button on the sign-in screen. Your account still gets the same plan-based access as an email/password account.
Is the torque spec and step data reliable enough to use in the shop?
Built-in procedures are curated reference content, but figures should always be confirmed against the model-year-specific factory service documentation before final tightening or module coding — Eurofault is a reference and a time-saver, not a replacement for factory documentation.
